Connecting Your Sony PlayStation 2 to Shaw Internet
These instructions assume that you have properly installed Sony's Network Adaptor in your PlayStation 2 (PS2) and have loaded the Network Adaptor Startup Disc. (Instructions for the above steps can be found on Sony's website in the Network Adaptor Wizard section.)
To configure your PS2 for Shaw Internet, please follow the steps below:
Using the on-screen keyboard, enter a name (e.g. "Shaw") for your new network configuration and press the X button.
You will be asked whether you subscribe to an Internet Service Provider. Select YES and press the X button.
On the next screen, highlight High Speed Connection (Cable or DSL) and press the X button.
Select Automatic Settings (Cable or DSL) and press X.
You will be asked to select whether your ISP requires a User ID and Password. Shaw does not require this.
You will be asked if you need to enter a DHCP Host Name. Shaw does not require this either.
The Network Adaptor will test the connection. Once a connection has been established, press the X button to save to your Memory Card.
If you cannot establish a network connection, check to ensure that all cables and network equipment are securely connected. If the problem continues, you can contact Shaw technical support for system status in your area. If there are no problems with the Shaw service and you still cannot connect, you will want to contact Sony technical support at 1-800-345-SONY.
