Hello all,

Sorry no speak Polish

Thank you for translating
I am Howler, I run FREESCOsoft. (
www.FREESCOsoft.com)
I am not here to point fingers, to blame anyone, to disrespect anyone, to bother anyone, or anything like that. I am here to open the channel to me and FREESCOsoft. Unfortunately, I have to start with bad news

but hope it only leads to good in the end
I have been informed, that abuse to dk.freescosoft.net has been made from Poland, resulting in IP BANNING. I am here to explain and hopefully resolve this issue. I/WE (FREESCOsoft and mirror holders) do not take kindly, to people/persons downloading 100+ files "at one time" from their machine, would you from your machine, I think not ??? As a result of this, the IP (IP segment) has been BANNED from that mirror server.
This in no way affects all people here, but does one or more. As a note, this would be done to anyone who would do this sort of thing. I encourage mirror holders, to BAN anyone who does this kind of abuse, there is no need to do that kind of abuse (or any abuse). I am not saying that mirror holders should BAN everyone (that is not smart idea), but to BAN those that deserve it (as directly as possible) to reduce the number of uninvolved users from being BANNED. What they do in the end, is up to them, it is their machine not mine.
Downloading, installing or whatever, with any of the mirror sites is good, that is what they are there for. Doing something like what is mentioned here (100+ files at once) is not good. I am not discouraging the use of the mirror sites. I am not saying Poland should not use them. I AM saying that when you DO use them, use them WITH respect. Abuse or major missuse, may lead to the closing of a mirror site, that would damge all of FREESCO, not just the capabilities for you (specifically) to get the packages (speaking towards the offending user, but in general also).
That explains the BAN issue and all that bad news stuff

. Now for another option. (and I do mean option, do not mean mandetory)
Since it seems that not only the Polish packages are being looked for locally, but packages from other authors also, from other places around the world. I would (personally) like to see an offer, from some one in Poland, to host a mirror site of FREESCOsoft. With this idea being used, all in Poland could be kept up-to-date with that mirror site. Meaning that the local Poland mirror site, could be used for the people in Poland, to install packages from, download files from, etc. It would make the downloads quicker and would have all of the packages that any other mirror would have. This would also put more control over the BANNING and such, if needed. There are specific 'rules' for mirroring, but nothing that is outragous to ask for (for one thing, it has to be an identical copy of the main site, no manual changes ""at all"").
A few 'requirements' (sort of) for being a FREESCOsoft mirror site ...
a) Dedicated connection (either a business location, payed account on a remote server , home account with a real good connection).
b) Linux prefered. RSYNC and CRON, runs real good on Linux, but not as good on Windoze.
c) The name of the project (freescosoft) some place in the URL. Prefer to have one of the .net names (pl.freescosoft.net) pointed to a static IP, but not necessary, but the name must be in the URL ( freescosoft.blah.blah.blah or blah.blah.blah/freescosoft/ ).
d) the rest get easy as they go
I would also encourage any package authors, to submit their packages to FREESCOsoft, for mirroring, so everyone that uses FREESCO can utilize what is available. Getting some of the packages that are on FREESCOsoft now, 'would have been' impossible, if it was not for FREESCOsoft mirroring packages that are created for all, by 3rd party package authors. If the FREESCOsoft site (or project) was not created, about 1/2 of the packages on the site now, would not be available to the public on this day. As they would have dissapeared from this earth, with no traceroute to follow and no copies any place, most likely. The idea of FREESCOsoft, is to get copies of ANY (AND ALL, if possible) packages for FREESCO, out to the public, so that none may get lost with the passing of time or the loss of an author. FREESCOsoft, does have an ftp upload account (with verification of course), for uploading of your packages, it also has forms to use, to submit your packages (so all information is correct). FREESCOsoft is already built into FREESCO, to an extent (as the default pkg location), so having your packages on FREESCOsoft would only expose your packages to more users and get the packages in the main stream of FREESCO.
Joining FREESCOsoft, by either hosting or submitting a package(s), only helps to expand the distance that your package(s) or contribution will go around the world and increase the range, of the ever spreading fingers of FREESCO, around the world, as more and more people world wide start using FREESCO on a normal basis.
IMPORTANT :
I mean no disrespect towards ANYONE, but do to a small extent, to the offending person with the BAN issue. I am here to bring light to the issue and to open the door for another option and possibly expand the ever growing Fs mirror sites, as they become more and more a part of FREESCO.
As I do not speak Polish, any posts that are for me to read (or reply to), please make it English (no matter how 'poor' you might think it may be

I can try and decipher almost anything

just as you try and decipher my post here).
If any clarification is needed for a part of this post (don't understand what I am trying to say), let me know and I will try and see how I can make it better.
HAPPY FREESCO'ing
